Wilson Questions Prime Minister on Health Cuts
|
Reading East MP, Rob Wilson, today questioned Tony Blair about health cuts at Prime Minister's Question Time. Reading has suffered deep cuts to its mental health budget and Primary Care Trust.
Last year both the Royal Berkshire Hospital and PCT had to send £ millions from their budgets to Milton Keynes, to alleviate a crisis. Rob said: “The Prime Minister believes that last year saw the NHS have its "best year ever". We all know that simply isn't true, as ward closures, redundancies and cuts to patient care have escalated. "I hope my question helps to get his feet back on the ground as he is out of touch with reality. Locally Conservatives are campaigning to support the hard working staff of the NHS, many of whom feel demoralised by what is happening. It is critical our campaign is successful." 10/01/07 |
