Wilson Hands Out Awards At EP Collier School
|
Reading East MP, Rob Wilson, was delighted to attend the EP Collier Primary School on Friday morning (9 February) to address the school assembly about his role as an MP and to present high achiever awards to a group of star pupils.
Mr Wilson received a warm welcome from the children, who were keen to hear about the diverse job carried out by their Member of Parliament; resulting in a lively question and answer session. The week’s high achieving pupils received an additional commendation when Mr Wilson, a member of the House of Commons Education and Skills Select Committee, presented their certificates. A special round of applause was reserved for Mr Neville, the school caretaker, who received an award for his snowman construction skills. Rob Wilson commented: “It is always a pleasure to visit the staff and pupils at EP Collier School. It is a testament to the hard work of the teaching staff that they have a group of such polite and attentive pupils. I am confident that the awards presented are just the tip of the iceberg in the academic lives of these excellent pupils.” 13/02/07 |
