Wilson wins first battle over Ryeish Green trust status
|

Reading East MP Rob Wilson has raised the proposed closure of Ryeish Green School on the floor of the House of Commons.
In Education questions yesterday he pointed out that the school was an improving school with widespread local support to remain open as a Trust School and requested that Secretary of State, Alan Johnson, meet with him, the LEA and school representatives to try to find a solution. The Secretary of State responded to Mr Wilson that he would be happy to meet and assist with the push for Trust status. Commenting after Education questions Rob Wilson said “Ryeish Green is an improving local school used by many of my constituents and I am delighted that the Secretary of State has committed to help the school get trust status. "I will be contacting his office shortly to agree a date for all parties to meet to discuss a way forward. I am pleased that, yet again, my quiet efforts are yielding positive results for my constituents.” 16/03/07
