Wilson cleans up South Reading graffiti
|
Rob Wilson, Member of Parliament for Reading East, joined Reading Borough Council officers and ward Councillor Mike Townend to clean up graffiti for real in Church ward on Friday.
Rob put on protective clothing and used a high pressure spray gun to remove graffiti at the junction of Cherry Grove and Blagdon Road . The cleaning spray is based on natural citrus juices and is therefore environmentally friendly and non toxic. Rob said “I was keen to try out graffiti removal for myself. It is a plague in many parts of my constituency and it is good to see how quickly it can be removed with the right equipment and a bit of good old fashioned elbow grease. "I am pleased to learn that local community groups can be loaned graffiti removal kits and it would only take one or two enthusiastic individuals in each community to remove the damage that a few thoughtless people are inflicting. I want to see local people join me in cleaning up graffiti across Reading and making everywhere in the Town a great place to live.” 18/06/07 |
