Who to vote for UK 2010 |
Having problems working out who to vote for in UK General Election 2010?
Check out Vote Match I took a spin and answered as the vibe got me at the time and apparently I should be voting BNP this time around. Last time I voted Green but it would appear we are not matched for 2010. Interesting exercise to go through ... here is a short history lifted straight from their site ... This will be the third version of Vote Match Unlock Democracy has run since 2008. Previous versions produced for the London and European elections have meant that Vote Match has developed a national reputation for being the UK's independent source of information about the differences between political parties. • In just four weeks the Vote Match European Elections website had approximately 70,000 users & over 90,000 page views. • In just two years over 100,000 people have used Vote Match. • Vote Match has generated significant press interest, including broadsheet coverage in the Daily Express, the Independent, the Times and the Telegraph, magazine articles in Grazia and local press, TV coverage on BBC Newsnight & ITN News and a multitude of blogs and online forums. Vote Match has already proven itself to be an internet phenomenon. Previous versions for the London and European Elections have received endorsements from the London Civic Forum, Operation Black Vote and the National Youth Agency. The Independent's John Rentoul described it as "a digital democracy breakthrough". The Guardian's Michael White, the Mirror's Kevin Maguire and Conservative blogger Iain Dale have also endorsed it. Vote Match is based on StemWijzer, developed by the Institute for Political Participation in the Netherlands. Originally a paper-based quiz started in 1988, one in three Dutch voters used StemWijzer in the run up to the 2006 Parliamentary elections. The German Wahl-O-Mat was used by one in five voters in the run up to the 2005 Parliamentary elections. |
