Berkshire General Election Results 2010

Check out the Berkshire General Election Results 2010

No surprises in Berkshire. Reading West was taken by the conservatives but the previous Labour MP stood down.

It appears that we had around a 7% growth in turned out for this election with 413,822 representing a 68.6% of the potential voters.

It’s amazing that with 6,232,743 (22.8%) votes the Liberal Democrats only have 50 seats as we write this (8 a.m. 7th May). Conservatives have 9,934,727 (36.4%) and Labour 7,861,381 (28.8%).

The most significant vote was for Mark Ashwell, Independent for Wokingham.

If we look at the BBC list, the 17th most popular party / Independents are the Scottish Socialist Party with 3,157 votes. Mark got 2,340 votes a massive 4.3% of the Wokingham vote. It will be great to see his position in relation to all national Independent candidates ...
